Work a job from the request screen

Open a job from Jobs, see what the next step needs, then start, pause and complete it with photos, answers, materials and signatures on one screen.

In the new app, tap a job on Jobs, on the Notifications screen or in a chat to open its request screen. Tapping a push notification opens it after the next app update; until then a push opens the older request screen. Everything you need on site is on that one screen: the status, what the next step still needs, the site, and the work you record.

Read the top of the screen first

  • The header shows the request number, Chat (with the number of unread messages, on jobs assigned to you) and ⋮ More actions.
  • Under it you see the status, the service, the property and the visit time. Change next to the visit time appears only when your company lets you change it.
  • The steps bar shows where the job is. A paused job shows an amber step.
  • The card below it says what the next status needs: Before you go, To start work or To complete. Each row has a shortcut (Take, Answer, Sign, …) that takes you straight to it.

Move the job forward

The button at the bottom always shows the next action your company allows, and the line above it names what is still missing.

  1. Accept job when the job is offered to you.
  2. Start heading when you leave. If you are already there, tap Already on site? Start work.
  3. Start work on site. When your company requires you to be at the property, the screen checks your location first; the final check is still made when you tap the button. Too far away, it offers Directions; a property with no map location offers Message the supervisor. If the phone can't give your location (permission refused, no fix), the screen stops asking on its own for a few hours and shows Try again: tap it to ask again.
  4. Pause when the job needs another visit or a part. Choose the reason, write a short note and, when allowed, a next visit time.
  5. Complete job (or Send for approval) when the work is done. You write what you found and fixed, confirm any cash you received, hand the phone to the customer to review and sign, then sign yourself.

If the job is refused, the screen shows the reason in a sheet and nothing is changed. If someone else updated the job meanwhile, you see This job changed and the screen refreshes.

Record the work

  • Photos and files: tap Add to take a photo, record a video, choose from the gallery or upload a file. Photos taken before work starts save as Before; after it starts, as After. Uploads keep going while you work. You can delete the photos and files you or another technician on the job added, not the ones the customer or the office added.
  • Services: open a service to answer its questions. Answers save as you type. Add a service with Add when your company allows it.
  • Materials: add a part From inventory or Bought outside with a photo or receipt.
  • Notes: write a note for the job report. You can delete only your own notes.

Note: When your company hides prices from technicians, you see quantities without amounts and one line under Services says so. You still see the cash amount to collect at completion.

Other things on the screen

  • Know before you arrive shows the access notes (when your company shows access codes) and the supervisor's latest note, with when it was written (New for a day). When you are on your way, Tell … you’re on the way opens WhatsApp with a ready message.
  • Site has Directions, the last visit, the floor plan and the contact person (call or WhatsApp). Tap the property or asset photo, or the floor plan, to see it full screen and zoom in. Call at the top calls the same contact.
  • ⋮ More actions has Refresh, Copy request number, Copy address, Change visit time, Manage team and Signatures now (once work has started), each only when you may use it. As team lead you add and remove only your own team members; anyone else on the job shows locked. You can also pull the page down to refresh it.
  • A finished job shows the Job report: the work summary, before and after photos, time on site, your answers and who signed.

When you cannot change a job, a line under the steps explains why: you are viewing it as team lead, the job is closed or waiting for approval, its deadline passed, or it belongs to another branch. Your company decides whether you keep updating a job you sent for approval, and whether a team lead adds photos and signatures to a member's job; operators read what technicians can change on a job.

If a job was deleted or given to someone else, you see This job is no longer available. Tap Go to Jobs to return to your list.
